The Bradford-Ewart List of Top Ten

Albums of the Decade

Our Rules:

1. Had to be released between 2000-2009.

2. Only one album per artist.

3. No greatest hits/compilations.

4. We considered both the musical mastery and the personal connection we had to the album.

5. We had to agree with each other about the album. This was hard. Nicholas would have put Kid A as his number 1 and, if Lindsay were honest, there would be a few cheesy religious albums on there. But there needed to be Bradford-Ewart consensus.  (We even considered the babies on a few of the choices…)

And so, without further ado (or adieu):

number one:

Come on Feel the Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens

number two:

American IV: When the Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash

number three:

Middle Cyclone by Neko Case

number four:

Hello Love by The Be Good Tanyas

number five:

með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust by Sigur Ros

number six:

Songs by Regina Spektor

number seven:

MTV Unplugged No 2.0 by Lauryn Hill

number eight:

Funeral by Arcade Fire

number nine:

Let it Die by Feist

number ten:

So Jealous by Tegan and Sara
